  • After completing his schooling at the prestigious Doon School, Jyotiraditya Scindia went to the US for higher studies. He graduated in Economics from Harvard University and got an MBA from Stanford University
  • Jyotiraditya Scindia entered politics after the sudden demise of his father, and the then MP (Member of Parliament) from Guna, in Madhya Pradesh (MP), Madhavrao Scindia, in 2001
  • He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2002 by-election from the Guna constituency. During his first term, he served as a member of the Standing Committee on Finance and the Standing Committee on External Affairs
  • Scindia was re-elected for a second term to the Lower House in 2004. This time, he was given the charge of the Committee on Estimates, Committee on Petitions, the Standing Committee on Defence and the Standing Committee on Finance as a member
  • In 2008, he was appointed as minister of state in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology

  • In 2020, he resigned as a member of the Indian National Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party
  • In the 2021 Modi cabinet rejig, Scindia was made the minister of civil aviation
