New Delhi: Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday unveiled revised guidelines for the Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme aimed at boosting India's role in global telecom standard-setting and promoting indigenous technologies.

With an outlay of ₹203 crore for 2026-31, the revamped scheme is designed to help Indian entities contribute to global standards, spur innovation and improve competitiveness in emerging telecom technologies such as 5G Advanced and 6G.

The revised norms widen eligibility to include startups, MSMEs, academia, research institutions, telecom service providers and industry players, a move expected to deepen ecosystem participation and encourage collaborative innovation across the telecom value chain.

The scheme seeks to strengthen India's presence in leading international standardisation bodies such as the International Telecommunication Union, 3GPP and oneM2M.
