India Post expands footprint, crosses Rs 15k cr revenue mark
The department now has a network of 1,64,999 post offices. It also crossed the ₹15,296 crore revenue mark in FY26, registering a year-on-year growth of 16%.

After the annual business review meeting for FY26 on Monday, Union Minister for Communications and Development of Northeastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, said India Post's future growth is critically dependent on the robust performance of its core logistics and service verticals.
The department now has a network of 1,64,999 post offices. It also crossed the ₹15,296 crore revenue mark in FY26, registering a year-on-year growth of 16%.
This is for the first time in several years the department has crossed the 15% growth mark, which underscores the department's transition from a traditional cost centre to a revenue driven centre.
While acknowledging the steady progress made during the year, Scindia observed that core segments such as parcels, mail and international business require sharper focus to fully realise their growth potential. However, despite the sharp growth, the department has managed to achieve 88% of the business target set for FY26 at ₹17,546 crore.
Highlighting key strategic initiatives, Scindia noted the Department's expanding partnerships with leading e-commerce and logistics players, along with its growing footprint in Government-to-Citizen (G2C) and Government-to-Government (G2G) services.
