The Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) will make way for a new mission aimed at upgrading infrastructure in cities.

NDMC officials say since no funds have been released by the Centre and state, all projects under the scheme have been abandoned mid-way.

"As of now, JNNURM is over but there are many issues related to the scheme which the Central government needs to address," Fadnavis said.

The Centre has approved sanctioning of more than 2000 buses to Karnataka under the (JNNURM) along with 20 buses for Bhatinda.
