Ranveer Brar swears by yogurt and has it everyday.
Chef Ranveer Brar shares his recipe for a healthy body and a calm mind.
Body “I exercise at least four times a week, out of which two to three times, I practice yoga. I also practice Kalaripayattu, which is a Kerala martial art based on the activation of chakras. My health mantra lies between Kalaripayattu, yoga and conventional cardio. I prefer exercising first thing in the morning, but when I’m travelling, it ends up being the last thing at night. Yoga is reserved for the mornings. One sport or activity I absolutely love is table tennis. It’s an underrated sport and it’s physically challenging. To stay healthy, I eat a lot of fruits, fresh veggies and probiotics like yogurt. I swear by yogurt and have it every day.”
Mind
"Mental health is very important. While physical health gives you confidence, mental health helps you gain perspective to make the right decisions in life. When it comes to keeping the mind sharp, I honestly believe in the power of conventional milk, nuts and seasonal veggies. That’s my formula.”
Soul “Fitness for me means well-being; being in a happy place physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Physical fitness alone lost its meaning several years ago for me. I realised that if I had to stress myself out to stay physically fit, it wasn’t worth it. I feed my soul by listening to music. I love Sufi music. Apart from that, poetry also feeds my soul.”
“My diet is an all-inclusive one, I do not believe in culling things from it, but believe in moderation. A common diet hack that I practice is having lots of water 15 minutes before a meal. I do not drink water after a meal. Drinking water before a meal makes me feel satiated and ensures that I do not overindulge.”
