Travis Kelce's birthday Chief's win: How did the NFL star celebrate his birthday amid the Chiefs' winning streak?

Travis Kelce kept his birthday celebration with Taylor Swift pretty simple, but he still had one reason to call the day a great one. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spent his birthday in New York City with Swift and grabbed food at one of his favorite restaurants, Torrisi. But the thing that made him happiest had nothing to do with the birthday itself. The Chiefs had just beaten the Las Vegas Raiders, giving Kelce a win to celebrate too.

How did Travis Kelce celebrate his birthday?

Travis Kelce talked about his birthday during the Wednesday, Oct. 7 episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. The NFL star said he was happy to hear from people who reached out to wish him well. He also gave his brother a quick look at what he did in New York, as per a report by PEOPLE.


“It feels nice because I had a lot of people reach out and say ‘happy birthday,’ ” Travis shared on the Wednesday, Oct. 7 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast. “And, yeah, it was a good day. It was a fun day. Got some food out here in New York. Went to one of my favorite spots — Torrisi. Got to hang with Tay.”

Kelce, 37, said he did not get a birthday cake. He also made it clear that he is not someone who makes a huge deal out of his birthday.




Despite that, the restaurant apparently made up for the missing cake with dessert.

“No, but Torrisi’s got some good desserts,” he said. “They brought out the entire arsenal. They got some good yogurt. They got an espresso shaved icing with ice cream and chocolate underneath. It was weird. It was nice though.”

When Jason asked whether there were any other birthday details to share, Kelce laughed it off.

“No, I would love to just keep it moving.”

What was the best news Travis got?

For Kelce, the best part of the birthday was the Chiefs' latest win.

Kansas City had beaten the Raiders the day before, giving the team a perfect 4-0 record heading into its bye week.

“And the best news that I got on my birthday was that we got a victory,” Travis said, referencing the Chiefs’ win against the Las Vegas Raiders the day before. “That was the happiness I had around my birthday. I got the win going into the bye [week] and we’re 4 and 0.”

Jason, who retired from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, then asked whether a loss would have spoiled the birthday.

“Losing ruins everyone’s life. Yes,” Travis said. “That’s the f---ing worst thing to ever go down. So if I would have lost, it would have ruined my birthday for sure.”

The Chiefs now have some time away from games. Kelce said he plans to use the break to work out and watch baseball, college football and professional football.

The team will return to the field against the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18.

“To be 4 and 0 going into the bye was one of the challenges that we set for ourselves,” Travis said of the Chiefs’ record. “Obviously, excited to be where we’re at, but even more excited to see where this thing could go, man. We got a hell of a team that’s playing f---ing well together.”

Travis Kelce gets a little time away from the field after a perfect 4-0 start. He plans to stay active, watch some baseball and football, and enjoy the bye week. The Chiefs will return on Oct. 18 to face the Los Angeles Chargers, with Kelce already looking ahead to what the team can do next.
