Meghalaya | Coal mine blast claims 18 lives in Jaintia Hills, PM Modi announces ex-gratia
A tragic incident took place at Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills where an explosion at a Coal mine reportedly claimed 18 lives. Speaking about the incident, Meghalaya CM extended condolences to the victim’s families and ordered a probe in the matter. Reacting to the tragedy, PM Modi announced ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs for next of kin of each deceased. The PM further announced that the injured would be provided with financial aid of Rs. 50,000.
