Maharashtra eyes becoming India’s first ‘tokenised state’: CM Fadnavis announces DELTA Act

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has unveiled an ambitious vision for the future of fintech, saying the state is working towards becoming India’s first ‘tokenised state’. Speaking at Global FinTech Fest 2026, Fadnavis said Maharashtra is developing the proposed DELTA Act to create a legal framework for blockchain-based tokenisation of land and other immovable assets. He also outlined Maharashtra’s ambitions in Agentic AI and quantum technology, positioning the state as a large-scale real-world laboratory for the next generation of fintech innovation.
