Share market update: Metal shares shine; JSW Steel gains 4%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Monday's session.

Shares of JSW Steel (up 4.0 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 3.85 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 3.37 per cent), Tata Steel (up 2.18 per cent), VEDL (up 1.87 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (up 1.74 per cent), NMDC Ltd (up 0.82 per cent), Hindustan Copper (up 0.42 per cent), Coal India (up 0.39 per cent), Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 0.19 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (up 0.18 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 1.92 per cent up at 1708.7 around 02:01PM .


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 86.40 points at 9337.9 , while the BSE Sensex was up 273.4 points at 31916.1 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Motherson Sumi, SBI, Ashok Leyland, RBL Bank Ltd., Zee Ent., Tata Power and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
