The actor's representative has addressed the reports about Disney approaching the actor with a $301 million (Rs 2,355 crore) deal for his comeback as Captain Jack Sparrow in the next film for 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise.
According to recent reports, it was rumoured that the actor was offered the astronomical sum to return as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow for a 'Pirates' film and a Disney Plus series.
However, the actor's representative has denied the reports. In a statement to NBC News, Depp's rep said that the report was "made up".
The previous reports alleged that Disney wanted to "patch things up" with the actor after the media company dropped him following Amber Heard's op-ed in The Washington Post where she described herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse".
"Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two," Poptopic reported, quoting a source.

During Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard's defamation trial, the former model's attorney, Bredehoft had asked in the court whether Disney was aware about Depp's testimony where he had said that he would "not take another Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas."
