'I do not have any private or side accounts'. Johnny Depp warns fans of impostors, shares list of verified profiles

It has been quite a month for Hollywood star Johnny Depp.

The actor, who has been busy celebrating his verdict in the libel lawsuit against former wife Amber Heard, took a break to inform his fans of impostors on social media claiming to be him.

In a note shared on Instagram Story, the 59-year-old said that he was informed that some 'fake' social media accounts were 'pretending' to be him or claiming that they work with him.

Clarifying further on Sunday, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star informed his nearly 26 million Instagram followers that he does not have any 'private or side accounts' on any social media platforms.

"I’ve been made aware that there are fake accounts pretending to be me or people working with me. I do not have any private or side accounts on any platforms," his statement read.

Depp also shared that he has verified accounts on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Discord which he and his team run.

Warning his fans, the Hollywood heartthrob urged people to be cautious of these relentless fake accounts. He further assured that his team is working to tackle this problem.

“I ask that you remain cautious as it seems these fake accounts can be relentless. My team is working to combat the problem. Thank you for your continued support and for making me aware of this issue! Love & respect, JD X,” his post concluded.

After his victory in the defamation case against Heard, Depp shifted his focus to music and film.

Soon after his win, the American actor announced his new music album '18' with English rock guitarist Jeff Beck. The 13-track album will drop on July 15. It will mark his first major project released since the end of his highly-publicised defamation trial.

The album contains covers of The Velvet Underground's 'Venus In Furs', the Everly Brothers' ballad 'Let It Be Me' and Marvin Gaye's soul classic 'What's Going On'. There also are versions of Davy Spillane's 'Midnight Walker' and two songs from the Beach Boys' masterpiece, 'Pet Sounds' — 'Caroline, No' and 'Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)'.

Depp supplied two originals, including 'This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr', the set's first single. The cover of the album — a sketch of two young men in white T-shirts — was designed by Beck's wife, Sandra.

The actor, a member of the rock group Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, started recording with Beck in 2019, and also joined the guitarist's current European tour.

Besides the new album, the commercials featuring the actor - who has been the face of Dior fragrance since 2015 - returned to TV early this June. It is understood that the perfume reported record sales after the verdict in the case.
