Hollywood star Johnny Depp has reportedly been approached by Disney with a $301 million (around Rs 2,355 crore) deal to return as Captain Jack Sparrow from 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' franchise.
The Australian pop-culture website Poptopic reported that Depp has been offered a $301 million contract to reprise his role of iconic Jack Sparrow in another film from the 'Pirates' franchise and a Disney Plus series.
According to reports, the Walt Disney Company wants to "patch up" with the actor. Disney had dropped Depp following Amber Heard's op-ed in The Washington Post where she described herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse".
To make amends, Disney has reportedly also sent Depp a gift basket with a "heartfelt letter".
"Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two," Poptopic reported, quoting a source.
During Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard's defamation trial, the former model's attorney, Bredehoft had asked in the court whether Disney was aware about Depp's testimony where he had said that he would "not take another Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas."

Now according to the latest reports, Disney wants bygones to be bygones. "I know the corporation sent him a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter, but I'm unsure how it was received. But what I can tell you is that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow -- so they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character," the source said.
The media house reportedly is planning a $301 million deal along with a sizable donation to a charity of actor's choice. "The deal is reportedly for Johnny Depp to return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and a spin-off Disney Plus series about the early life of the Captain of The Black Pearl," the report further said.
