NEW DELHI: Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely death has left his near and dear ones devastated. Days after the unfortunate incident, Rajput's co-star and close friend Kriti Sanon took to social media to address the discourse surrounding the late actor. Rajput and Sanon starred in filmmaker Dinesh Vijan's movie 'Raabta' in 2017.

In a five-page-long note on Wednesday, the 29-year-old actress criticised the speculations, blame game and trolling that started building after Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment on Sunday.

Sanon stressed that people should stop talking ill and gossiping about others as everyone is fighting their own battle. While most manage to ignore the negativity or filter it it, in her post she said that it still subconsciously affects some more than others.

Slamming the 'blind items', the 'Heropanti' star criticised the media culture of writing stories out of gossip items where columns are reported without naming the source. She said they should be branded 'illegal'.

"They (blind items) should come under Mental Harassment! So either have proof and some guts to write the names, or don't write it at all! You write 'hear-say' and call it journalism while you have no idea how badly that can affect someone's mind, their family, their life. Little Birdie is usually not right," Sanon, who was one of Rajput's industry friends to attend his funeral, wrote.

Calling the media coverage around Rajput's death and his funeral as insensitive, Sanon said clear rules needed to be defined for journalism. She also lashed out at those criticising her and others close to Rajput for not immediately reacting to his death.

Calling social media the most toxic and fake place, the star said it is strange that the otherwise "trolling, gossiping world" suddenly wakes up to one's "niceness and positive side" when a person is gone.

In her concluding comments, the 'Luka Chuppi' actress said that the gender-based notion regarding one's vulnerability should be done away with as it only causes further harm.

"Take your time to heal. Hold onto your family and people who genuinely love you and care about you. Never let them go. They are your strength and will be by your side no matter what. So let them be around. No one is strong enough to battle life alone," she ended her note.

According to a police official, Mumbai Police found out during the probe that the 34-year-old late actor was under medication for depression.

On Tuesday, Sanon shared a heart-warming note after Rajput's demise in which she said that it had left her broken.

In an emotional post, she hoped to have a chance to help the late actor sail through that moment which made "dying felt easier or better than living".

She further said that his 'brilliant mind' was his best friend and his worst enemy. She said she always prayed for his happiness and will continue to do so. "A part of my heart has gone with you, and a part will always keep you alive..." she wrote.
