Complaint against Salman, K.Jo, Ekta in Bihar court over Sushant S Rajput’s death

In connection with Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide, a complaint has been filed against the bigwigs of the Indian film industry - Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ekta Kapoor.

According to a report on timesnow.com, a lawyer, Sudhir Kumar Ojha, filed a complaint on Wednesday under Sections 306, 109, 504 & 506 of IPC in connection with Rajput’s death in a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur.

A couple of other filmmakers have also been named as co-accused in the case.


Speaking to news agency ANI, the lawyer alleged that Rajput was removed from seven films and some of his films were not released as a result of which he took the drastic step.

“In the complaint, I have alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput was removed from around seven films and some of his films were not released. Such a situation was created which forced him to take the extreme step,” the lawyer was quoted as saying.

Rajput's father K K Singh and actress Kangana Ranaut, who came out with an angry statement after his death blaming his suicide on rampant nepotism and favouritism in the film industry, have been named as witnesses.

Ojha is a serial litigant who remains in news for filing complaints against film personalities, politicians and foreign heads of state, few of which go beyond the admission stage.

A few hours after Rajput’s death on June 14, Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam had sent out a tweet on similar lines, claiming that Rajput had signed seven films after his 2019 hit film ‘Chhichhore’ and had lost all the films within a span of six months.

“The film industry's ruthlessness works on a very different level. And that ruthlessness took the life of one talented person,” Nirupam wrote.

TV Czarina, Ekta Kapoor, has reacted to the complaint and expressed her displeasure on the same. She said that she is ‘beyond upset’ at how ‘convoluted’ theories can be.

Several industry insiders, like actor Vivek Oberoi, film-maker Anubhav Sinha, producer Nikhil Dwivedi and others had called out the industry for its insensitivity, especially to outsiders, post-Rajput’s demise.

Known for films like "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" and "Kedarnath", Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home on June 14. Initial reports suggested that the actor had allegedly died of suicide. No suicide note was found in Rajput’s apartment. His post-mortem report said that he had died of asphyxiation.

The actor was cremated at the Vile Parle crematorium on Monday amid heavy downpour.
