Elon Musk holds Twitter Blue verified service, says relaunch only until ‘high confidence’ of curbing impersonation
This is the second time Twitter is holding off the launch of the Blue Verified service.

The SpaceX chief took to his Twitter account to announce the delay in the launch of the Twitter blue verification service. Musk said that the Blue Verified service is being put on hold, adding that the service will be launched with a different colour check for organisations distinguishing them from individuals.
His latest tweet suggested that the relaunch will happen when there is high confidence of stopping impersonation.

The USD 8 fees to obtain the blue verified badge led to a large number of fake ‘verified’ accounts that did considerable damage to numerous brands on the platform.
Several accounts with misleading display names impersonating noted brands, personalities and CEOs lead to chaos that even . However, Musk later tweeted that any accounts imitating others will be prohibited and asked parody accounts to explicitly identify themselves as parody accounts.
Twitter had briefly introduced a grey check mark to distinguish certain accounts amid the chaos. The grey mark which was suspended was recently reinstated.
