Rapper Kanye West is finally back on Twitter after being banned from the microblogging platform for six weeks following a tweet controversy.

The ‘Stronger’ singer made his first tweet since November 4 on Sunday after his account was restored on Twitter following Elon Musk’s takeover of the social network.

In his first tweet since the much publicised ban, the 45-year-old made a ‘testing’ post to check if he indeed was unblocked.

“Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked,” the rapper tweeted to his 32.1 million followers.

The fresh tweet since the ban was followed by another post by the rapper which read: “Shalom.”

While there was a mixed reaction to the news about West being back on Twitter after his last few posts irked a few people on the Internet and was called out for being insensitive, the rapper received a warm welcome by the CEO, Musk.

“Don’t kill what ye hate, Save what ye love,” Musk replied.
The ban first occurred on the Instagram account of West, who legally changed his name to simply Ye last year, before it moved to Twitter.

After the incident, Musk met with West where the two had a chat about his recent activities on social media platforms.

In a tweet, the world’s richest man shared that he had a chat with West where he “expressed his concerns” regarding his recent tweet. Musk believes that West took his words to heart.

“Talked to ye today & expressed my concerns about his recent tweet, which I think he took to heart,” Must had earlier tweeted.
In addition to West, Musk reinstated Donald Trump's Twitter account on Saturday.
