Behind the lens: When Anil Kumble got his 'Fantastic Beasts' moment

The former cricketer, who is an avid photographer, spotted tigress Maya ferociously protecting her territory.

Anil Kumble spotted a tigress chasing another tigress, in order to protect her territory, during his visit to the Tadoba Andhari National Park.
Indian spin legend Anil Kumble, who is also an avid photographer, recently visited the Tadoba Andhari National Park in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur. It was there that he stumbled upon two tigers in action. The former Indian captain posted a series of photos on Twitter, showing tigress Maya chasing another tigress, in order to protect her territory.

“I had a once-in-a-lifetime sighting of Maya the tigress in Tadoba, who was protecting her territory from another tigress. The sequence of pictures shared depicts the ferocious chase that culminated in a fight and a civilised way of asking the intruder to leave her territory,” Kumble captioned his post.



Within a matter of hours, the posts had garnered over 13,000 likes and nearly 1,000 retweets.

As the shortlisted names of the candidates for the top job of the men's team coach are out, Ravi Shastri as incumbent is again in the mix.
