When Anil Kumble indulged in some retail therapy

Anil Kumble, the former Indian captain and record-breaking leg spinner, strolled out of an ocean-facing luxury hotel in Mumbai last week, hands thrust in the pockets of his jeans.

Outside, a chilly evening breeze hit his tanned face, as he crossed the driveway and entered the chic store of an Italian brand. Few worked harder on the field than Kumble, India’s highest wicket-taker.


He deserves a spot of expensive shopping once in a while.
