Bates CHI plans to bring media agency M/Six to India by January

WPP’s creative agency Bates CHI & Partners will bring media agency M/Six to India by January, a top executive said.

MUMBAI: WPP’s creative agency Bates CHI & Partners will bring media agency M/Six to India by January, a top executive said. “In India, we will start in Mumbai and then quite possibly in Delhi and Bangalore as well,” David Mayo, CEO, Bates CHI & Partners – Asia, said. “I would specially like it in Bangalore because we have got some very big established clients there like Dell,” he said.

Besides India, M/Six , a joint venture between GroupM and CHI & Partners formed six years ago, will also enter China, Malaysia and Singapore by January.

“M/Six in India will be the extension of our London operations,” Mayo said. “If Bates is the end of the Ogilvy & Mather arm in India, M/Six will be the end of the MindShare arm and not GroupM.”

Headquartered in London, M/Six has a second office in New York. Bates CHI & Partners has three offerings in India – digital and activation arm Bates CHI & Sercon and shopper marketing division Bates CHI & Wall Street besides Bates CHI. “The three companies put together contribute nearly 23% of our total APAC revenue,” Mayo said, adding he expects a significant growth in revenue when M/Six comes onboard.

He said the company will unveil a fouryear plan in January.
