Language has a life of its own. Especially when it comes to lingo used by newer generations. Take for instance the term 'mog' currently back in vogue among Gen Alpha. It apparently means to outshine or outdo oneself or others. Mog could be used in a derogatory sense as well, as in doing better than another to 'show them up' or to establish one's own superiority over the other, to outclass or dominate someone. In a good sense, it could mean healthy competition. And when it comes to oneself, as in 'I want to mog myself', it means that you wish to better your own performance, appearance or social skills.

Mogging in a spiritual sense could mean taking pride in the fact that you are able to exercise self-control or lead a disciplined life far better than your peers. It could also mean your persistence in practising meditation and yog regularly whereas your friends lag or get easily distracted. You may feel you are mogging when you think you have been able to overcome your ego - but is that not an oxymoron? If you mog about ego-transcending, then you still are beholden to your ego, is it not? When taken to another level, mogging could well be a great incentive for self-improvement not only in academics or social behaviour, but also in understanding oneself and striving to know more about answers to existential questions to gain access to higher dimensions. In other words, mogging could well pave the way towards higher knowledge that may ultimately lead to enlightenment.
