‘We complement, not compete’: Goyal unveils $70 trillion FTA global market access

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said India has gained access to a $70-trillion market through its trade agreements and described the country as the world’s fastest-growing major economy. He said the India–EU FTA is likely to take effect in the first quarter of next year, while the first tranche of the India–US trade agreement will be operationalised after India secures a comparative advantage over competing economies.
