Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.79% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:05AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

TIINDIA(up 4.23 per cent), Escorts Kubota(up 3.45 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.42 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.38 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 1.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MRF(down 1.04 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.38 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.


The Nifty Auto index was up 0.79 per cent at 12507.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 34.8 points at 16313.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 134.97 points at 54656.12.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, SAIL and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Manorama Ind, GE Shipping, Steel Cast, Safari Ind and Aether Industries Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NGL Fine Chem, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Jeena Sikho Lifecare Ltd., Radha Madhav and Aakash Exploration hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
