Gold rises on Comex as dollar weakens

A slightly weak dollar pushed up gold on Comex by $2.80 an ounce to $1,176.40 intraday on Tuesday. The Indian price of the metal was Rs 15 higher.

Gold rises on Comex as dollar weakens
MUMBAI: A slightly weak dollar pushed up gold on Comex by $2.80 an ounce to $1,176.40 intraday on Tuesday.

The Indian price of the metal, reflected by MCX, was Rs 15 higher at Rs 26,810 per 10 gm. Traders' outstanding positions intraday was up at 8,600 from 8,201 a day earlier, indicating possible speculative funds moving into the counter.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six currencies, was trading down by 0.3 per cent at 95.043.
