Daayra OTT release and platform details: When and where to watch Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kareena Kapoor Khan's thriller movie online after its theatrical run

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran's much-awaited movie Daayra has completed its opening weekend in theatres, but the crime thriller has struggled to make a strong impact at the box office. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film opened in cinemas on September 18 and received appreciation for the lead actors' performances. However, its earnings remained modest during its first three days. Now, we have an update regarding its digital release.

For those want to watch the film from home after its theatrical run, the film is set to stream on Netflix, which was mentioned in the opening credits of the theatrical version, as cited by GQ India. However, Netflix and the makers have not yet announced an official OTT release date. Based on the usual theatrical-to-digital window, Daayra could potentially arrive on the platform between October 30 and November 13.

Daayra started its theatrical run with a collection of around Rs 1 crore on Day 1. The film saw some improvement on its second day, earning approximately Rs 1.75 crore, according to Sacnilk.com.




On Day 3, the thriller collected around Rs 1.60 crore. This took its total collection for the opening weekend to approximately Rs 4.10 crore.

Despite the modest numbers, the film has received positive responses for the performances of Kareena and Prithviraj. The story's subject matter and Meghna Gulzar's direction have also been among the talking points surrounding the movie.

The box-office response, however, has not matched the attention generated by its cast and the filmmaker. With its theatrical run underway, the film is now also expected to find an audience on streaming once its digital release is officially announced.

Prithviraj Sukumaran plays DCP Raman Kumar, a police officer who becomes a national figure after leading the encounter. While his action earns him public support, questions are raised about whether the police followed due process.



The Human Rights Commission begins examining the matter, putting Raman under scrutiny. This brings him into conflict with Kareena Kapoor Khan's character, DCP Ajooni Kohli.

Ajooni is known for following the law and believes that justice must be pursued through the proper legal system. As she investigates Raman's actions, she starts noticing inconsistencies that make her question what really happened during the encounter.
