Tom Brady’s Back Bay Condo
The former quarterback’s real estate buying in Boston started in 2004 when he purchased a condo in Burrage Mansion in the city’s Back Bay neighbourhood. The 3,412 square foot condo had two fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen and views of Commonwealth Avenue. The property was located in a French chateau-style building.Brady sold the property in 2008 for $5.3 million after owning it for four years. The former New England Patriots quarterback’s asking price was $1.2 million above the original purchase price.
Beacon Street Penthouse
Tom Brady bought a new property in 2006 at a time when he still owned the Back Bay condo. The football star purchased a three-level penthouse on Beacon Street for $6.2 million. The penthouse had three floors. It had a living space of 5,311 square feet. The property also had a library, a media room and a rooftop deck overlooking the Charles River.Compared to the Back Bay condo, the Beacon Street penthouse’s three floors and extra rooms offered more space for the Brady household. The property also has a media room and a rooftop. The panoramic views of the river and the city are available from the penthouse.
Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen sold the penthouse in 2012 for $9.27 million. The final asking price was $3.07 million above the original purchase price of $6.2 million. The football player started buying real estate in Boston with smaller units before going for upscale properties, as per reports.
Brookline Estate
Tom Brady and his wife acquired five acre land in Brookline. The couple bought it for $4.5 million in 2014. They then hired a luxury home designer Richard Landry to build a custom house on the land. The 12,112 square feet main house has a yoga studio, a gym, a wine cellar and a playroom. It also has a 2,400 square foot barn or guesthouse. The property built on a five acre land in Brookline ensured the growing family had more space than their other residences in the area. Moreover, the custom-built house allowed Brady and his family to have a house built as per their specific requirements.
Nevertheless, Brady and his wife eventually sold the property for $32.5 million. This was $7 million lower than the original asking price. Tom Brady used the money to move to Tampa with his wife as the football star signed with the Buccaneers. Brady moved from the Patriots after spending 20 years with the team.
The three real estate deals of a Back Bay condo, a Beacon Street penthouse and a Brookline compound show the extent of Brady’s buying spree in Boston. Each of his three Boston properties saw a significant increase in valuation since he bought them.
