The film is largely faithful to the 2019 book, released two years after the story broke.

The film stars Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan as New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor.

Oscar-winner Rebecca Lenkiewicz has penned the script.
