Ganga is the lifeline for about 300-400 million people who reside in its basin which is over 2,500 km in length.

Measuring 274 inches by 196, the painting shows the state entry of King Edward VII, then prince of Wales, into Jaipur in 1876.

“It (Akbarnama) has been translated into English before, but that was Victorian English. MCLI’s translation is more contemporary,” she says.

“I would love for future generations to read and appreciate Kalidasa’s Shakuntalam as much as they may appreciate Hamlet,” said Rohan Murty.
