Govt faces pressure as opposition takes charge of student protest to PM's doorstep

Delhi witnessed another day of political confrontation over the NEET leak issue and police action during the July 20 student protest. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Akhilesh Yadav and other Opposition leaders marched from the Parliament area and staged a sit-in near 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, before several leaders were detained by Delhi Police. Meanwhile, the government said it was willing to discuss NEET-related issues in Parliament, while Congress accused it of refusing to address the concerns of students. The Aam Aadmi Party also held a separate protest at Jantar Mantar, adding another layer to the escalating Opposition mobilisation.
