On May 17, fitness coach Jeana Aragon shared an inspiring video showing her mother’s fitness journey and the remarkable transformation she achieved through consistent gym workouts over the years.

“My mom is 80-years old! The cutest and most adorable 80-yr old I’ve ever known. I’m so proud of this amazing woman. She’s what you would call small but mighty,” Jeana wrote while posting the video online.



From Struggling With Squats To Strength Training

The video began with clips of Jeana’s mother at the age of 75, when she found it difficult to perform even a basic seated squat without the support of cushions placed underneath her.

However, through regular workouts and dedication, her strength gradually improved. Over time, she progressed to doing push-ups, weighted squats, and several other resistance-training exercises.

‘She Always Had A Can-Do Attitude’

According to Jeana, her mother always possessed determination and a spirited personality, which made her naturally adapt well to weight training.

The fitness coach shared that her mother enjoys pushing herself during workouts and would happily increase weights and give maximum effort during every exercise session if possible.

Training With Longevity In Mind

Jeana also explained that exercising at an older age requires careful planning and adjustments. Since she personally trains her mother, she ensures every workout focuses on long-term health and safety.

She modifies exercises whenever her mother experiences arthritis flare-ups and includes longer rest periods between workout sets to avoid strain and fatigue.

‘She Puts In The Uncomfortable Effort’

“The important thing is that I continue to encourage her and let her know how well she is doing and how proud I am of her. She could easily resist coming for her workout sessions twice a week and just stay at home on the couch all day… that would be easy. But she doesn’t. She puts in the uncomfortable effort to get ready, walk to my house, and get in her resistance training workouts twice a week,” Jeana shared.

‘This Dedication Is Helping Her Age Well’

Jeana further said that her mother understands how important regular exercise is for healthy ageing and maintaining independence.

“She knows that this dedication to regular exercise is what is helping her age so well. That’s what I’m so proud of her for. She’s going to keep doing her part to do what she can, and I’m dedicated to being here for her. She’s strong. She’s amazing… And now my little momma is 80,” she added.
