'PM Modi's praise gave Upanishads translation second life': Slovak Scholar on his 5-year journey

In a remarkable effort to bring India's ancient wisdom to Slovak readers, scholar Dr Robert Gafrik spent five years translating the Upanishads from Sanskrit into Slovak. Gafrik, a scholar at the Institute of World Literature of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, followed the traditional Indian interpretation of Adi Shankaracharya for his translation. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appreciation of his work gave the translation a “second life” by turning it into a bridge between India and Slovakia.
