Mehbooba Mufti calls SC's decision on Article 370 a 'Death Sentence; Omar vows to continue struggle

Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has called the Supreme Court's decision on Article 370 a 'Death Sentence'. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah expressed his disappointment with the Supreme Court's judgment but vowed to continue the struggle. In a judgement on December 11, the Supreme Court upheld the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution while announcing its verdict on a series of petitions challenging the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The five-judge bench also ordered the Election Commission to hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir by September 30, 2024.
