Kharge vs Rijiju: RS row erupts as LoP questions PM's absence from all-party meet on West Asia
Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the government over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s absence from the all-party meeting on the West Asia crisis, asking, “Where was your Prime Minister?” during proceedings. Kharge raised the issue after Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan moved to extend the House to take up pending government business. He said the Opposition sought a short-duration discussion under Rule 176 on the impact of the West Asia crisis, including LPG prices, but the government did not agree. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju responded that the government was ready for discussion and said Opposition leaders did not attend the earlier all-party meeting, triggering a sharp exchange in the House.
