India-Japan Economic Forum: Modi, Takaichi push ties to shape future of Indo-Pacific, Global South

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi addressed the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum, outlining a shared vision for the future of bilateral cooperation. The leaders highlighted ambitious plans covering AI, semiconductors, defence, clean energy, critical minerals, supply-chain resilience, startups, healthcare and mobility. PM Modi invited greater Japanese investment into India. PM Takaichi emphasized resilience, economic security and announced the Japan–India Compressed Biogas (CBG) Initiative as part of deeper clean-energy cooperation. The forum also showcased more than 120 business agreements.
