'From 248 km to 1,200 km': PM Modi hails India's metro expansion, credits NDA's governance push
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlights India's metro rail expansion, calling it an example of pro-people and proactive governance. Speaking in Pune, Modi says India's operational metro network has grown from 248 kilometres in 2014 to nearly 1,200 kilometres today. He points out that metro services, which were available in just five cities in 2014, now operate across 26 cities. Contrasting the pace of infrastructure development before and after 2014, the Prime Minister credits the NDA government's focus on improving ease of living and transportation for the urban middle class. He says Pune's metro connectivity reflects this transformation.
