PM Modi: India achieves 50% non-fossil power capacity target 5 years early
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlights India's progress in clean energy amid global economic and energy crises. Addressing the country's energy security, he says India achieved its target of sourcing 50% of installed power capacity from non-fossil fuels in 2025, five years ahead of the 2030 deadline. He adds that India has already achieved nearly 300 GW of non-fossil capacity and is working towards adding another 500 GW over the next decade. Modi also highlights the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, under which over 65 lakh households have joined the rooftop solar movement.
