The BJP is drawing up plans to have elaborate rallies by Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come to Karnataka for the election campaign after the completion of the nomination process for the coming Assembly polls, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Thursday.

The last date for filing of nominations ended Thursday. April 24 is the last date for the withdrawal of nominations.

The PM is expected to tour the state and participate in about 20 rallies between April 28 and May 7, according to sources. A clear picture is likely to emerge only after a couple of days as the party is still drawing up the schedule and finalising the dates in consultation with the PM’s office.

The party is also arranging rallies by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

The BJP is drawing up plans to have elaborate rallies by Modi, Yogi and other top leaders to take on the Congress and launch a strong offensive to counter its charges that the party had insulted the Lingayats, the state’s largest and politically influential community.
