A 98-member group of central BJP leaders, including Union ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman and Dharmendra Pradhan as well as the party's national president JP Nadda, will visit all 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka on Tuesday and Wednesday, as political campaigning gathers momentum for the May 10 polls.

"It is like carpet bombing. We are not sparing any constituency," the BJP's national general secretary CT Ravi told ET on Monday, taking a brief break in between the rallies in Mandya district.

The two-day heightened campaign efforts will be followed by a series of high-powered political rallies and road shows by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath beginning this weekend.


The Congress, BJP and JD (S) stepped up their campaign pitch as Monday was the last date for the withdrawal of nominations.
