Arvind Kejriwal writes to CEC, accuses BJP workers of harassing AAP workers
Arvind Kejriwal has written to the Chief Election Commissioner expressing concern over AAP workers being harassed by BJP workers and Delhi Police in the New Delhi Assembly. He cites the example of volunteer Chetan, who was allegedly detained, abus...

He demanded that the Election Commission appoint independent observers in his New Delhi constituency, and asked for the arrest of BJP workers allegedly involved in such incidents and suspension of police officers concerned.
"I am writing to express my grave concern over the intimidation and harassment being meted out to our grass-root volunteers in the New Delhi Assembly Constituency at the hands of BJP workers and Delhi Police in the run-up to election day," Kejriwal wrote.
He alleged that a senior volunteer named Chetan was detained and booked, accusing him of having previous cases.
"Yesterday, our senior volunteer Chetan (Resident of Princess Park Part-2) was unlawfully detained and booked under section 126 of BNSS, 2023 at Tilak Marg Police Station, on the baseless and fictitious grounds that he has previous cases registered against him, while there are none. He was brazenly charged with actions that he had never committed," the letter said.
Kejriwal also alleged physical abuse by the police against Chetan and said that he was rushed to Lady Harding Hospital as he fainted from the abuse.
"He was also subjected to severe physical abuse by the Police officials to the point that he fainted and was subsequently rushed to Lady Harding Hospital. Later on, after a lot of struggle, he was produced before the Return Officer/ SDM concerned and granted bail, in a matter in which he was brazenly framed," the letter added.
Kejriwal further said that this was not an isolated incident and highlighted nine other incidents of alleged threat, violence and an attack on his envoy.
