A day after resigning from AAP, eight Delhi MLAs joined BJP, citing a loss of faith in the party and Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership.

A day after quitting AAP, eight Delhi MLAs joined BJP, saying they no longer trusted the party or Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. These MLAs were among 18 legislators who were denied tickets for the upcoming elections.

Who Are the MLAs Who Resigned?

The eight MLAs who resigned are:
  • Girish Soni (Madipur)
  • Pawan Kumar Sharma (Adarsh Nagar)
  • Bhawna Gaur (Palam)
  • B S Joon (Bijwasan)
  • Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar)
  • Rajesh Rishi (Janakpuri)
  • Rohit Kumar (Trilokpuri)
  • Naresh Yadav (Mehrauli)
They also sent their resignation letters to Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.


What are their complaints against AAP?

The MLAs criticised AAP’s leadership over corruption and other issues. Some of their key concerns include:
Pawan Kumar Sharma said AAP was created on honesty but lost its way.
B S Joon accused AAP of moving away from its original values and claimed his replacement had a criminal record.
Rohit Kumar alleged that AAP ignored Dalit issues and only used them for votes.
