Stalin joins Mamata in slamming Bihar voter roll revision, calls it BJP's bid to erase dissenting voters

After West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also come out against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls being conducted by the Election Commission in Bihar.

Like Bengal, Tamil Nadu too faces assembly elections soon, and leaders from both states have expressed concern over a similar exercise being undertaken in their regions.

Calling the SIR an attempt to "engineer outcomes," Stalin alleged it was being misused to erase voters from disadvantaged and dissenting communities, tilting the balance in favour of the BJP.


"The BJP knows the people of Bihar will vote them out this time, so they are trying to stop them from voting altogether. If you cannot defeat us, you seek to delete us. Don't play with fire," Stalin posted on X.

He warned that any threat to democracy would be met with "firm resistance" and vowed that Tamil Nadu would "raise its voice with full force" alongside all democratic allies.
