Rahul Gandhi repeats 'vote theft' charge, says ECI still silent
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday repeated his allegation of “vote theft” during his campaign in Bihar, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Election Commission of colluding to “steal” elections.
While reiterating his "vote theft charge" in Haryana, Gandhi went to the extent of claiming that most of the elections the Congress lost were due to vote-chori by BJP. "I guarantee you that PM Modi, HM Amit Shah, and the Election Commission have stolen the Haryana election together. We said it with evidence that they committed theft in the Lok Sabha, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and now they are trying to win Bihar elections by stealing...This vote theft is conducted to help Ambani, Adani and billionaires, give your land to people like Adani and Ambani, and to privatise your hospitals, colleges and universities," he said.
He also referred to the Opposition parties in Bihar questioning a former nominated MP linked to BJP casting his vote in the first phase of voting in Bihar on Thursday, after having been a registered voter in Delhi in the last assembly elections there.
"I came to know yesterday that BJP leaders who cast votes in Delhi also voted in the first phase of Bihar polls," Gandhi said.
His charge came after former MP Rakesh Sinha dismissed the allegations against him, claiming that he had officially shifted his voter registration from Delhi to his village in Bihar.
