The Bihar government has appointed 1991 batch IAS officer Pratyay Amrit as the new chief secretary. Amrit will take charge on September 1, 2025, succeeding Amrit Lal Meena, who is scheduled to retire on August 31. The notification regarding his appointment has been released a month in advance considering the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
