"From socialism to BJP-RSS lap": Kharge ridicules Nitish, says he'll be dumped "where garbage is dumped"

Kharge's remarks came in the wake of the culmination of the “Vote Adhikar Yatra,” a march led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, which traversed 1,300 kilometres through Bihar, engaging with voters across 110 Assembly constituencies.

Bihar election: In a vicious attack on Nitish Kumar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge derided the Bihar Chief Minister for abandoning his socialist roots in favour of an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Kharge said on September 1 that the JD(U) chief used to talk of socialism once but then "fell into the lap" of the BJP-RSS that will dump him "where garbage is dumped".

Kharge's remarks came in the wake of the culmination of the “Vote Adhikar Yatra,” a march led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, which traversed 1,300 kilometres through Bihar, engaging with voters across 110 Assembly constituencies.

Kharge said, “Once upon a time, he [Kumar] used to go around and talk about socialism and praise Ram Manohar Lohia and George Fernandes. Where did those socialist ideas go? Now you have gone and fallen into the lap of the BJP-RSS.”

The Congress leader also said that the BJP-RSS alliance would ultimately discard Kumar, warning, “This BJP-RSS will dump you where garbage is dumped.”

Kharge also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is resorting to “vote chori” in a bid to secure victory in the upcoming elections. He urged the electorate to remain vigilant.

The current BJP-led NDA government is on the brink of being ousted, Kharge said. “This double-engine government will not be there after a few months. The new government that will be formed will be of the poor, women, Dalits and backwards,” he stressed.
