ET Graphics: Voting begins for Bihar SIRCAR; phase 1 battle today

Bihar Elections 2025: Bihar is set to go for polls on Thursday morning (today) as the two-phase elections for one of India's most politically significant states begins.

While the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is eyeing another term in the east Indian state; the Tejashwi Yadav-led INDIA bloc is fighting for its place in a race that has been marred by controversies, national debates and outrage over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) that concluded in September.

121 seats across 18 districts, over 3.7 crore voters will decide fate of 1,314 candidates, including 121 women contestants; prominent leaders in the fray include Opposition CM face Tejashwi Yadav (Raghopur) & BJP dy CM Samrat Choudhary (Tarapur).
