As new GST rates came into effect from Monday, BJP is planning to launch a nationwide campaign, taking the reforms to the ground by reaching out to every section of the society. A team of 10 BJP leaders has been appointed to oversee the campaign. Apart from BJP national general secretaries Arun Singh and Tarun Chugh, eight other leaders have been included in the team, and each leader has been given charge of 3-5 states.

On Sunday, Arun Singh had issued a letter to party MPs, urging them to participate in the seven-day 'GST Bachat Utsav' from September 22-29. The MPs have been asked to carry out two padayatras every day, covering two markets in their constituencies.

In poll-bound Bihar, where 34.13% people count as BPL families, the party has crafted a state-specific strategy and formed a team of five leaders under the leadership of BJP MLA Sajiv Chaurasia as convenor and Suresh Rungta, Amrita Bhushan, Manan Mishra and Nitin Abhishek as co-convenors. Thanking the PM for the reforms, CM Nitish Kumar said it would benefit all sections of people in Bihar.
