ECI earlier issued notice to Yadav, asking him to submit his voter ID card which it said was found to be fake. On Sunday, Yadav claimed that Bihar deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha has two voter IDs, one in the Bankipur assembly constituency and the second in Lakhisarai. Yadav even made a presentation showing the EPIC numbers of both IDs. "ECI was quick to issue a notice to me because I am in Opposition. I have replied to my notice. Would ECI show the same promptness to issue a similar notice to the deputy CM or this is only for Opposition leaders," he asked.
Meanwhile, Sinha released a statement saying he had applied for deletion of vote from Bankipur. "Earlier, my entire family's name was listed in Bankipur in Patna. In April 2024, I applied to add my name to the Lakhisarai assembly. I also filled out a form to have my name removed from Patna. I have proof," he said. "For some reason, my name wasn't removed, so I called the BLO and submitted a written application and took a receipt. I have both documents. My deletion form was rejected." Sinha said he votes at only one place.
On Sunday evening, ERO of Bankipur constituency issued a notice to deputy CM Sinha regarding his two voter ID cards. In the notice, the ERO sought a reply from him by August 14.
