Anant Singh secured 91,416 votes, defeating RJD’s Veena Devi, who finished with 63,210 votes. He clinched the high-stakes seat with a decisive margin of 28,206 votes after the completion of all 26 counting rounds.

Why Anant Singh Is Contesting From Jail

Anant Kumar Singh, a central figure in Mokama’s political landscape, is currently lodged in jail. He was arrested by Patna Police shortly before polling began in connection with the murder of Dularchand Yadav, a Jan Suraaj supporter.

According to Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma, Singh was arrested along with two associates, Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram, and later produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Patna.

His arrest added dramatic layers to an already tense electoral battle.
