Guwahati: Union home minister Amit Shah Friday allayed fears of the Uniform Civil Code UCC stating it won't be applied to tribals.

Addressing an election rally in Dudhnoi, Shah said, "I am the minister for co-operation, and I promise BJP, if voted to power, will provide a cow and buffalo to each tribal family."

The home minister said there was a council election in Garo hills in Meghalaya and there was violence. "Infiltrators entered the Garo hills, deceived the Garo women and married them and wanted to capture their land. Congress party made Assam the hub of infiltrators." "Congress can never stop infiltrators. Make BJP government once again I assure you will send back every infiltrator. We have already identified infiltrators; there was a shortage of time; give us another five years, we will send back all the identified infiltrators."

He alleged that the Congress has done politics on the death bodies of Assamese youth. "We did several accords and ensured over 10,000 youths are brought back to mainstream."
