Rajnath Singh pushes cost-effective defence production, flags India's supply chain vulnerabilities
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking at Swavlamban 2026 in New Delhi, called for defence production that is cost-effective, operationally superior and globally competitive. He stressed the need to identify supply chain vulnerabilities, assess critical import dependencies and develop domestic alternatives, while ensuring that self-reliance strengthens both national security and India's economy.
