Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in today's trade

MRPL, Chennai Petro, Global Education, Hindustan Motor and Kohinoor Foods, hit their fresh 52-week highs during the day.

NEW DELHI: Shares of MRPL, Chennai Petro, Global Education, Hindustan Motor and Kohinoor Foods, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Tuesday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 153.2 points down at 16416.35 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Valiant Organics, TCNS Clothing, Debock Sales & Mktg, Silly Monks Entertai and Shyam Telecom, touched their fresh 52-week lows.


Overall, 13 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 36 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Coal India Ltd, NTPC, Maruti Suzuki and Hero MotoCorp were among top gainers during the day, while Titan Company, UPL, Dr. Reddys, Britannia and L&T ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 567.98 points down at 55107.34.

Traders piled up positions in Telecommunications, Gas & Petroleum, Cables, Auto and Defence sectors, while selling was witnessed in Engineering, Tourism & Hospitality, Agro Processing, Media & Entertainment and Tyres sectors during the day.
